Kárpát Railways’ machine in action to spread stone in Pestszentimre

The usual track closure on line no. 142 of Budapest–Lajosmizse–Kecskemét has started. Earlier years similarly saw work in the summer seasons here. This year, the track closure lasts from 17 June until 9 July, and during this type only work trains travel on line no. 142 between Kőbánya-Kispest and Dabas, whereas travelers can use the rail replacement bus service.

Based on the Kapella track closure information, MÁV FKG Kft. will execute the following works: track reconstruction, long rail laying, long rail replacement, reinforced concrete base replacement, platform construction, road crossing replacement. On Thursday, Kárpát Railways’ Bo’Bo’ no. 052 arrived from Lajosmizse with rubble wagons at Pestszentimre, where the material was spread over the area after several rounds of replenishment.
